The ICC (International Convention Centre)

Becta is hosting its annual Next Generation Learning (NGL)Conference at the ICC on 9 March 2010. The theme of the conference is "Time to innovate: Maximising value in Further Education and Skills." The conference will focus on harnessing technology to deliver greater efficiency and effectiveness and recognising current best practice in the sector to achieve better use of resources. There will be guidance, examples of some "quick wins" and discussion of the opportunities from existing and future innovation in technology.

The conference is free to attend, and will attract leaders, senior managers and practitioners from across the FE and skills sector, as well as work-based and adult learning providers, agency partners and representatives from government.

The conference will:

Update on the “progress made” in the delivery of the government’s Harnessing Technology strategy
Demonstrate the opportunities presented by technology drawing on “practical experience” of how technology can help FE and skills providers achieve improved outcomes for learners and employers, excellence in teaching and learning, efficiency and value for money
Share practice and “engage” with activities that will help achieve greater efficiencies and impact for learners through collaboration and new ways of working.
